www.hotcars.com The Rolls-Royce 103EX Is An Enthralling Peek Into 2035

Would Henry Royce have ever imagined Rolls-Royce to reach such innovative peaks in 2022? Probably not. What started as an electrical and mechanical business in 1884 has come a long way over the years. Rolls-Royce moved to car production in 1904 and became a fully-formatted company in 1906, only to further bloom in 1908 under the BMW group.

Throughout this long period, Rolls-Royce has built a name for itself as one of the most famous engineering companies in the world. It became known as a luxury automobile maker that enriched the globe with notable models such as the Ghost, the Wraith, and the Phantom. But what would really take Henry Royce by surprise is the Rolls-Royce 103EX concept car.

Designed for 2035, the Rolls-Royce 103EX envisions the automobile future that will be less about the cars themselves and more about the traveling experience. On top of everything, this concept car looks to take the luxury to another level.

If you're eager to find out more about the Rolls-Royce 103EX, follow our review. We dive deeper into the gorgeous concept car that wants to take us to 2035.

The Future Of Luxury Mobility: The Fully Customizable Rolls-Royce 103EX

Sir Henry Royce once said: “Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.” The current team behind Rolls-Royce took this advice seriously. One has to admire how the company took a look at the future and imagined what new cars would look like in the next decade (or should we say century?).

HOTCARS VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Rolls-Royce 103EX debuted in 2016 as the all-electric concept vehicle for 2035, gaining the name "Vision Next 100." After four years of a global tour, the car returned home to Greenwood in London. After the exciting adventure, the 103EX will now be displayed in the Rolls-Royce headquarters to showcase the brand's dedication to innovation.

What tackles most interest in this concept model is autonomy. The Rolls-Royce 103EX will take people to pre-programmed destinations, so there won't be the need for any steering. Rolls-Royce imagines the future of driving to be more about the traveling experience and less about the involvement in the action.

With a fully electric drivetrain, an autonomous drive, and artificial intelligence support, the Rolls-Royce 103EX is something special indeed. The prominent British brand definitely takes a unique approach to the future of luxury mobility.

The Rolls-Royce 103EX is a giant as it is. It's 19.4 feet long and features a long hood and big half-concealed wheels. Add to the equation the tall and massive grille, the mirror-like top, and the sleek headlamps, and you get a truly gorgeous future-based model.

But that's not all there is to this amazing, unearthly concept car. Rolls-Royce claims every 103EX model will be unique. Customers will be able to craft their 103EX from the wheels up, so there will be endless design possibilities.

“As our first fully autonomous electric vehicle, 103EX was a huge statement of intent. In its technical innovation, it showed unequivocally that Rolls-Royce regards electric power as the future of automotive propulsion. It also demonstrated our radical vision of effortless, autonomous, connected, spacious and beautiful luxury mobility, with each car as individual as the customer themselves," said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

The Rolls-Royce 103EX's Interior: Groundbreaking Or The Weird Tomorrow?

Now, the exterior is gorgeous in its unique way. Most people find it impressive for that very future-based styling. However, when it comes to the interior, people have different opinions. Although Rolls-Royce clearly wanted to make a luxurious and minimalistic interior that would focus more on privacy and comfort, one has to wonder whether it's possible to relax fully without a dashboard.

The interior of the Rolls-Royce 103EX shows a two-seat couch coated in silk and a carpet of the same material. The entertainment screen is mounted right on the other side, across the entire width of the interior. As the car will be fully autonomous, there's no need for a steering wheel and instruments, right? You'll get a virtual assistant, though, to express your wishes and operate the "needed" features.

Although the current design solution for the interior may not sound viable for some people, who knows that will happen until 2035? Our needs and opinions can change, and we may well enjoy the autonomous vehicle that doesn't need a steering wheel or other functions.

For now, one is certain — the Rolls-Royce 103EX gives us a glimpse of a gorgeous automobile future. We can't wait for this concept car to become real and shows us what that fully customizable tomorrow looks like. Hopefully, we won't need to wait until 2035 to see this or other similar concepts see the light of the day.
